Designed on the internship
The design work was Sultan's, done at Ducon Industries: supports that keep the slab from collapsing on itself, standard table dimensions, a housing joint for the net, then the moulds.

A surface the ball bounces on
Casting bubbles rose to the top and left it rough, so the moulds were redesigned, and a coating gave the concrete the coefficient of restitution a ping pong ball needs.

Concrete that breathes
Recycled, carbonation-cured concrete that absorbs carbon from the air, and the thread into his next paper, From Stigma to Standard.

A quantitative paper supervised by Dr David Willer, University of Cambridge. Under review at the National High School Journal of Science; three university credits awarded by UC San Diego.
